I meant to ask "if there is a 15 storied building,then how can we decide the power

for elevator motor??"

Whatever,

As for i know,

1. Decide the maximum capacity of the elevator that should carry.

2. Then calculate what is the torque & speed required by the belt drive mechanism to move the elevator. Do some work here.

3. Then you can know the capacity (torque & speed) of the motor to run that belt drive mechanism.
