Diesel Engine animation

05/17/2007 8:21 AM

Dear Sirs,

I have a brief exhibtion to do in a small class about propulsion of ships. One of the topics I intend to show regards to the work of engines. To give them a right understanding of how it works, I pretend to include a animation of the most common engines (Otto and Diesel). For Otto cycles I found hundreds of animations but diesel I didn't find anyone. Does anybody know where can I find an address of one diesel engine animation? All the credits gonna be presented.

Best regards,

João Marcelo

CAT provides an incredible screen save automation of the assembly and operation of a diesel unit.

"Does anybody know where can I find an address of one diesel engine animation?"

Google when queried with "Diesel Engine Animation" replied with this among others:

Hi Pibmak,

For those who don't know, this is the Wartsila-Sulzer engine. Available in 6 thru 14 cylinders. The 14 cylinder version puts out 108,920 hp. When running at its most efficient power setting it consumes 1660 gallons of heavy fuel oil per hour.

Cheers,

John

Oh, that's a baby. What about the pair in Jersey Electric's power station in St. Helier? One can hear them in East Anglia...

Beside these, if you require some exclusive animations to your specific expectation, let me know: I might help if within our means...

Hi Jmnav,

This site has a variety of engine animations, some of them kinda weird. No diesel in his lineup though.

Check it out: http://www.keveney.com/Engines.html

Cheers.

John
