Micro Relay Help Needed

05/17/2007 10:23 AM

Hello to everybody I need to replace a micro relay installed in a machine. The data that I can see are:

NAIS J1 1P 24 V

Thailand AJQ 6342

Spule 24 VDC

10 Amp 250 V

Cos phi 0,4.

I have looked for in Internet but the only thing that I found is that it belongs to Matsushita Electric

Can somebody help me on the characteristics of the relay?

Qty of contacts, switching frequency, etc

Thanks a lot!

Alvin

Try looking for Panasonic relays. I can't match this exactly but it is made by Panasonic.

Hi BrainWave

I search for Panasonic and I found the NAIS in this brand, but like you, I can`t find the same reference. Do you know another place to search?

Thanks

Alvin

Manufactures change their type numbers so often and replace old with new so it is not very easy. I think this may be a single pole 1A type If you can remove it from the PCB you can check it with a multimeter by energising it and checking with the meter on the ohms range X1, and see what connects where, they often have the pin out on the bottom. The physical layout is most often the problem when trying to find a replacement. The coil position ref to the contact pins. If you can post a photo it would help. You could try contacting the following www.farnell.co.uk

Ok BrainWave, you're right about manufacturers changes. I can't remove it from the PCB because is very dificult due the format.

I'm looking now at farnell.co.uk.

Thanks

Alvin

check for an internal diode fault the diode is often included in the relay to prevent damage to the driver circuit, mostly an external one is also fitted to just make sure, it could be the driver as well that is in trouble.
