Robotic Dog to Fight Obesity

09/01/2005 1:05 PM

Cynthia Breazeal of the MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, MA (USA) is designing a robotic dog to help dieters keep the refrigerator door closed. Her system will use a pedometer, bathroom scales and a PDA connected by Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to gather information about a dieter's weight, activity and eating habits. A computer will then analyze the data and have the robotic dog present the results. The robot, a souped up version of Sony's Aibo, will wag his tail or play music to indicate that you've stuck to your daily calories.
