Pressure Transducer Spec

What kind of Pressure transducer, i can use for measuring water hammer pressure peaks in my system? Is the sensing element to be 'deflection type' or 'piston movement type' or 'strain gage type' or 'piezo type'?

Kindly give me any material on the selection criteria for pressure transducer based on the requirement.

In many of the specifications, i could not see the parameter "frequency response" of the transducer, why? or how it'l be mentioned?

Wika's model P30 precision Pressure Transmitter datasheet:

- 1 kHz measuring rate for fast data acquisition

You also need a data acquisition device that can sample fast enough to capture pressure spikes.

There is a similar precision transmitter with RS-232 output, and an available software package for its PC interface, with a sampling report rate via RS-232 of 10mS per output, or 100Hz.

Why not just eliminate the source of the problem, instead of measuring its magnitude?

Hire a piping person to eliminate the problem piping.

As Lyn rightly said, "Why not just eliminate the source of the problem, instead of measuring its magnitude?" Best advice, attack the cause first than the effect.
