256MB Ram

processor info

intel(R) pentiuim(R) CPU P6300 @2.27GHz, 2266Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 logica

i want to upgrade my ram using 256MB...will my processor work fine with this

It depends (primarily in this case) on your motherboard.

Have a look in your motherboard manual as there should be a section on RAM expansion and what combinations you can use.

If you cannot find your motherboard manual you may be able to find it with an internet search, not your original manual obviously (Google says "It's behind the couch in the lounge"), but a copy.

search your machine for bios information. i had to press f-? on my old machine.

Sorry to tread on an old thread; But, as an additional point.

If you Google "Crucial RAM" then the Crucial website can, with your permission, scan your machine and give you a view of what is already installed and the max Ram that your PC will support.

Obviously they also hope to sell you that memory but there is no obligation in any way.
