Contrec Batch Controller Pump Installation

10/12/2012 2:54 PM

fellow learned technicians,im a technician and installing a contrec batch controller 1010A. This time i want it to control (stop and start) my pump upon delivery. I know there is a terminal A13-A17 or A14-A17(electromech relays) on the input A card of the contrec. I want to know how that connection is done in the direct on line starter of the pump motor.can i pick from the 13 hold on contact K1M to A17(contrec terminal) and the 14 hold on to A13(contrec terminal). can you just give me a simple direction to do the connection to run my pump without incorporating any external relay and can it be stopped automatically after the preset reached since the hold on contact needs to break the motor cct after delivery?. i need your assistance to proceed please. thank you. Im not getting any much information from the manuals other than showing me the terminal points for pump demand. Im using two pumps for one controller, one running at a time. I will be gla to get directives as early as possible.thank you

Since you have such a specific device and a known mfr, why not just contact them for assistance?

I don't know why you started a new thread instead of continuing the one http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/80968 already addressing the issue. That only makes assisting you more dis-jointed. It does appear that you have studied some of the info offered on that thread. Have you contacted the manufacturer or vendor?

It appears to me that terminals A13 Pump Demand and A17 Common should run your pump. (and A14 Pump Demand and A17 Common if you have a second pump. Do you have 2 arms?)

The relay contacts seem to be limited to 250VAC or 30VDC, 1A max, so your pump controls will have to be suitably designed. If your starter requires more current, you'll have to have another relay.

Be forewarned:

1) This advice is from a dumb old ME who likes to dabble in I&E from time-to-time

2) There are several versions of this device with different part numbers, some of which accommodate up to 4 loading spots, with separate pump outputs. You haven't given the part #, but the manufacturer will need it when you contact him/her.

3) The controller will have to be configured or programmed for your specific installation.

CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER FOR INFORMATION.
