Reading ASME/ASTM piping standards

05/20/2007 4:47 AM

Hi I'm trying to decipher the following:

Pipe 10" 273,0 x 31.8 ASME B.36.10 BE / ASTM A333 GR.6 SMLS

Does this 31.8 refer to the wall thickness? It's a high pressure application.

Thanks,

s_b

HI,

MR.SURFIN BUMPKIN.

FOR 10" PIPE : OD.=10.75" (273.05mm)

W.THK. = 31.8(1.252")

ID.= 209.45mm (8.246")

PLEASE NOTE THIS WALL THICKNESS IS NON STD. AS FOR 10"

PIPE SCH.160 IS 1.125" (28.575). ie. ID IS 215.9mm.
