2 questions you need to ask,

1/ What is your intellectual property worth?

2/ Could you mount a marketing challenge against your own product at half the price?

It's better to get sort your product out locally before committing it offshore.

My advice to you is to find an AMERICAN company that can do this for you, otherwise you will soon regret any association you ever had with the Chinese. They are, after all, still communist masquerading as capitalists....

Throw out your ideas, patent(s), and intellectual property rights if you deal with them. They steal it and will undercut you in the marketplace. Seen it done all too many times!

Ever see the TV program on ABC called "Shark Tank"? I've seen so many entrepreneurs on that program who have outsourced their prototypes and production to Chinese firms only to get thoroughly hosed by them in the marketplace here and abroad. They really have not legal recourse available to them to go after the Chinese cheats.

While it can work well it can also be a hit and miss affair as we have found out.

My advice would be to talk with a local prototyping company first. Yes it will likely cost more initially but you get much better control and communication to ensure you get exactly what you want which generally results in a cheaper overall result.

As an added advantage (which can be huge) local companies allow inexpensive face-to-face communication to further minimise miscommunication and speed up problem resolution.

Are you wanting introductions to customers or suppliers? From your first post, I assume the former.

There are plenty of competent prototype manufacturers here in the USA.

Using local vendors;

1. Removes the language barrier problem

2. Reduces the time required to communicate

3. Keeps the money in the USA

4. Negates the shipping problems

5. Removes any import restrictions or time delays in inspection and distribution

6, Reduces any drawing discontinuities inherent with translation.

I'm tired of this game.

Bye bye.
