Two parts, designed with energy directors, are clamped together and vibrated rapidly.

The parts are melted together then cooled when the energy is turned off.

Look up "ultrasonic welding".

A Klingon aims his Sonic Disruptor at the junction of two plastic work pieces and fires.

But the setting must be on "Weld". Stun is too low, Kill is going to disintegrate the workpieces.
