High Pressure threaded connection calculations

05/24/2007 12:34 PM

Where would I find formulas or code standards for threading the ID of 1.25" diam mild steel tubing with an o-ring sealed straight thread? The operating pressure is 3000psi.

OD is 1.25, ID will be about 1" depending on material and safety factor.

For threaded fitting see ASME B16.11

For pipe threads, general purpose (inch) see ANSI/ASME B1.20.1

Thanks, I'll start with those. Any other suggestions to build reference material would be appreciated. We have a unique application and there are no real standards
