As far as I can tell, HART management system is a generic term, like network or PLC.

Asset Management System (AMS) is a specific brand name of Emerson's HART management system software for their DCS lines, but it finds use as a generic term as well. Honeywell calls their DCS software package Field Device Manager.

Many of the hardware devices that are involved in 'HART management systems' are HART multiplexors.

From what I read, Hart is a specific communication protocol for an Asset Management System.
