Rock Saw DC Motor

01/14/2013 7:59 PM

My 20 inch rock saw has 2 motors. one drives the saw blade and the other drive a 1/2 inch rod that is threaded 20 threads per inch. The motor that drives the 1/2 inch thread rod died. It was a single speed motor. I what to replace it with a variable speed reversable motor. Can anyone help me with this?

What's the voltage and amp draw, frame size, mounting requirements, rpm range, copy any tags on equipment and post info, pictures would be helpful...

How about this?

Im assuming the motor you describe is the feed motor that pushes the rock into the blade. I can understand why you would want a variable speed but is there an adjustment to feed faster or slower depending on the type of rock? Its been many years (40) since I did any lapidary work but as I recall "Graingers" was the place for saws and parts related.
