Most hydraulic pumps are sized according to the horsepower of the driving engine. If you increase the pulley size on the engine, it will require more torque to turn at the higher speed. This usually means a bigger(HP) motor. This will give a faster rate. There are 2 speed pumps that give a high-volume low pressure output for retracting the cylinder, and switch into high-pressure low volume mode automatically. These do not require more horsepower.I presume you are tired of waiting for the cylinder to return from the power stroke. Check out the Grainger Catalog, and you will see pumps such as I described. Hope this helps.
