How To Deal With Water Contamination in Oil

02/08/2013 11:03 AM

Water is widely considered as the second most destructive contamination to a lube system, after particulate contamination. Identify where the water has come from and find solutions to maintain a water level as low as possible. I personally see it as a oil contaamination of water. We are using and will keep on using old designs of equipment and things that use water for cooling and the way they designed cooling ports and journal for water to flow allows the mix to happen.

Why not redesign to prevent the problem but that would get rid of a lot of job making repair parts I guess.
