Relay Coordination

hi everyone i just wondering what is the difference between time dial and time multiplier setting in relay coordination. tq

Before handling/testing any relay , when you are asking this type of basic question,for understanding of relay operation, it is better to study the books related to electrical protection engineering for safety of electrical equipments.

Hi there

I will reply in connection with time multiplier and time dial

Both of them serves the same purpose....."time multiplier" was more on the old phase 1 relays ( CDG, CDD, ext)

With the new relays phase3 phase4 that function is called "time dial"

In distance relays for feeders it is called "trip time delay"
