Quantity of Electrodes per Joint Made

Gud morning guys, can someone help me with the formula on 'how to calculate the number of welding electrodes required for pipe weld'? ;joint design angle is 371/2 degree and root gap is 1/8 inches, pipe wall thickness is 5mm.

Information please. Is this SMAW? Electrode size,filler material? Thickness? Applicable code?

Thanks for the requested info. Welding process=SMAW Electrode size: 3.2mm filler matl: E 6010 , & 7010 Material thickness: 2'' sch. 80 Applicable Code: ASME B31.3

Run one rod, see how far you get. From that, you can figure the number of rods required for the job.

Don't know of a formula, and different welders consume differing amounts of rod, depending on technique.

Alternate: ask your welder.
