Well, you might want to explain what ATP/EMTP Software is just to give us a chance to have an idea as to what you are talking about.

Next, it might be useful to explain what you mean by "insulation coordination". After thinking about it I can almost visualize a wire harness design software package.

But I will waste no more time without a better understanding.

Can you Google? That should be the FIRST THING YOU LEARN TO DO!

Where have you looked, so far.

Or, do you want to re-invent the wheel?

Are you willingly to answer the question? If you are desperately to anwering question, perhaps, it might be more useful to give better answer since this is Electrical Engineering Forum (I believe). I believe everbody registered in this forum will try their best not to give responds like this. As for myself, google is the first thing I did. Of course, there will be a lot of useful answer than yours.

Why am I asking this in this forum? - As to get more knowledge from experince people that may/have encounter/working something like this and such that, he/she could give me a better direction on what are the purpose of the study. In HIS OWN words, not citing OTHERS.

However, Thank you very much on spending your time to answer my questions. Yours comments and responds are greatly appreciated.

"learning purposes" and "insulation coordination" don't go together in the same sentence. As Joe's comments indicate, most people don't know what insulation coordination is, so trying to convince us that you're a newbie is unlikely, seems like you just want to get a pirated copy. We respect copyrights here so I suggest you go directly to the supplier and see what they'll do for you.

If there is a resource on it, it would be appreciated if we could share but if there's not, then JUST say there is not pirated copy on this forum and said that the FORUM WILL NOT ENETERTAIN ANY FORUMERS ASKING FOR PIRATED COPIES. I think it will not harm any of us here.

Prior to enlisted in this forum, I really believe, there is someone would know this study better than mine. Now, I am getting confuse. It seems that my question inviting forumer who has the same experience like me.

However, Thank you for your responds and comments. It is very much appreciated.

It is clearly stated in the CR4 Rules of Conduct:

"8...We do not support the copying or selling of any copywritten material by anyone other than the copyright holder or an authorized reseller. This includes, but is not limited to software, books and printed material; images; standards and certifications, etc.."

"12...CR4 is a professional, moderated site. If you do not feel you can abide by the rules, we invite you to visit some of the millions of other sites on the Web..."

And to answer your original question, had you gone to the ETAP site you would have seen that you can download a demo copy and that insulation coordination studies are part of the full package...

Thank you. I would like to apologise to all the forumer for asking PIRATED copy either i am asking it directly or not. Again, apologise to the administrator if it seems that I try to manipulate this forum as to get a PIRATED copies as a newcomer.

As a person, I am very much prefer to use a better "word" while answering/entertaining others even we dont know who they are, how stupid they are, how ignorance they are.

Personnaly, I think LEARNING is about getting knowlegdes from others worldwide HUMBLY. WORDS are easily to misunderstood and we don't know either it will hurt someone. Reminding soemone on what he'd done wrong may be nicer rather than accusing them, EVEN THOUGH their first intention are doing so.

Thank you very much on your advise on ETAP Demo. Really appreciate it though.

ETAP is NOT able to do insulation coordination - in fact, it has no EMT simulation capabilities whatsoever.

A free ATP software is the Alternative Transients Program:

http://www.emtp.org/

It's essentially a free version of Prof. Dommel's EMTP program that is currently commercialised as EMTP-RV. The creators of ATP were disgruntled with the decision to commercialise EMTP a few decades ago and made their own version.

And yes, you will be able to do insulation coordination with ATP. However, I'm not entirely sure if it has in-built lightning / fast-front impulse models or whether you'll have to model that yourself.
