Waveguide pressure window

Can i use a waveguide pressure window without the pressure pump?

My recollection is that they pressurize microwave transmitter waveguides (Radar, for instance) with dry nitrogen to prevent arcing due to moisture and contaminants. The waveguide window is a pressure seal that keeps gas in and lets microwaves pass through without much attenuation.
