Hi lads, I'm in the process of assembling a short engine, but I'm in a bit of a quandary regarding the head gasket.
WHen I lay the gasket on the block, there seems to me to be quite a gap around the cylinders. To explain further, on the right side of the block, the edge of the gasket is about 10/12mm away from the edge of the cylinder, so that when the head goes on, there will be aspace between the block and the head where, in my opinion, there will soon build up a deposit of carbon, and possibly cause problems with pre ignition etc.
I've contacted the engine supplier and he said it will be OK, but I'm not so sure.
What do you guys think.....?
Thanks,
Norm.
