Understanding How Microwave Oven Works

Pls i understand that d "power/micro" button on my oven is meant for powering d unit, but there is this other button with label "combi/grill" when i use d power/micro button, it's not getting hot, but when i use d grill/combi button, then it start getting hot, pls is this normal & is d oven working well in this state? Tnx in advance...

Your oven is probably similar to this. There are a series of videos on the right side of the screen. Everything has too many buttons and settings these days.

Yes, it is normal.

It is a combination of a microwave oven and a regular oven. Microwave ovens will not "brown" or cause the cooked item to turn brown because they cannot heat the surfaces of the item being cooked to a high enough temperature.

Use the microwave settings to cook quickly, and the grill to turn the food brown.

Those cheese and onion toasties look worth a try.

It is possible to brown items in a Microwave oven. For instance, Cindy loves white cheese that is cooked to a toasty brown. I put a piece of cheese on a glass plate and cook it in the microwave for 3 minutes. It first bubbles, then gets a brown coating.

They have several types of combo appliances available, would need model and brand....

Here's one with a toaster built in.....they have another that has 6 cup coffee maker...
