Looking for a Manager of Engineering in Toronto

06/06/2007 4:39 PM

One of my Toronto,Canada clients has given me an excellent role to fill, Manager of Engineering, but also a complex one.

This is an excellent public Canadian company, located in Toronto, who leads its field in its application of fibre optics and sensors to manage pipeline integrity. (For the Oil & Gas industry.)

Reporting to the vice president your challenge is to develop and lead your team:

* Continue the move products from R&D to Delivery

* Help position the current and new products for success

* Oversite of the delivery projects

* Integrate lessons learned to design and

* Grow the product line

You are an Engineer, probably Electrical with a PEng. You are a leader, a team player, a pragmatist who can think theoretically and create real world solutions.

You are comfortable with change, engineering, science and the fast pace of business.You think globally and act locally.

You lead people and projects. Time, money, service, quality, and risk are all elements you consider aspart of your team's delivery.

Whether it is discussing dsp, fibre optics, testing or product management, these are just some of the elements you consider as part of the larger delivery to the customer.

Compensation Includes

* Salary - TBD,

* Benefits - health, medical..

* Performance bonus
* Working with great people

If this challenge is for you, send your cv And a cover letter detailing your relevant experience And the value you can bring.

Reply in Confidence

If you are a recruiter, try Hatch Engineering in Mississauga,Ontario.

They work exclusive in piping related industries: Oil & Gas, Refineries, Steel Mills, Waste Management facilities, Nuclear, etc.

They recently laid off quite a few people.

I was a recruiter myself here in Toronto for the Engineering Search Firm and have about 5 years experience. I have a large database of engineers with this type of experience. IM me if you would like to talk about working together on this.

Jo E:

You don't like helping other engineers find a job?

We'll remember that next time you are unemployed.
