Generator Rotor Resistance

11/01/2013 2:30 AM

hello sirs

anyone can give me some guidance about generator rotor resistance.we have ansaldo energia 170Mva generator.its rotor resistance value at 95°c is 0.2°Ohm(200mohm) as per data sheet.but during resistance measuring we get it only 2.31mohm with digital low resistance ohm meter(Magger make).

so please give me some hint how I get proper value. why I get only 2.31m ohm inspite of 200m ohm.

First thing I would like to clarify, I am presuming that you have requested the information from the manufacturer of your machine, and they have provided the correct information.

If the information is correct, then I would suggest that there possibly could be 2 short circuits on the insulation of the rotor windings.
