Dear all
For compressor we have differential transmitter kindly please advise which is the low and high side to be connect
Current condition The xtmr low side connected to suction and high side to discharge any advise please.?
If the purpose of the differential pressure transmitter is to measure the pressure boost generated by the compressor, then yes: the "high" side should connect to the compressor's discharge pipe while the "low" side should connect to the compressor's suction pipe.
If the purpose of the differential pressure transmitter is to measure the discharge pressure of the compressor, then the "high" side should connect to the compressor's discharge pipe while the "low" side should be vented to atmosphere.
If the purpose of the differential pressure transmitter is to measure
vacuum on the suction side of the compressor, then the "high" side is generally vented to atmosphere while the "low" side is connected to the compressor's suction pipe.
If the purpose of the differential pressure transmitter is to measure flow through the compressor, then the "high" and "low" sides should be connected to the respective taps on the flow element (e.g. orifice plate, venturi tube, etc.).
As you can see DP transmitters are versatile devices, but their usage depends entirely on what it is you are trying to measure!
