Can you not just rename the file to .ppt, open it in Powerpoint, edit how you want then save it again as .pps?

I just tried it and it worked fine...unless I'm not understanding what you want to accomplish.

As I understand it well, here in CR4 we can attach pictures and links. The pics are in .jpeg and the links can be found e.g. on the internet. Suppose you receive an attachment .pps with an email and you download it to your download folder, how can you get it from that folder to import the file (e.g. a slideshow) into an answer on a post here?

The short answer is No.

But if you were desperate, you could convert each page of the Powerpoint to an image and upload all the images.

If you want to "share" files with CR4 users, you would first need to set up a file/document/picture storage place* on an internet server. Then upload your files to that server and place links to those files in your CR4 posts/responses.

* Search Google for "free internet file storage sharing"

I can't rate any of the easy online storage solutions because I chose the difficult path of setting up my own L.A.M.P. internet/web-page server (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Php) using an old PC. The home server method works IF you are a computer nerd and enjoy investing a significant amount of time and effort learning how to set up an internet file and web-page server.
