hi lyn - this is rabbit 16 lurking in the backround. i want to thank for the very usefull links that you have provided over the years to answer peoples questions. for me they have been quite usefull.
Actually I already found that Handbook but I didnt read it as I thought its just about material chemical composition. But, after you suggested I went through it and found the answer.
Thanks very much.
Actually I wanted to have strength of En8 and localized surface hardnes of 60 Hrs to 0.5mm depth.
But, now I think I should rather go for EN36 or 655M13
Instead of carburising, you may go for quenching of steel EN8 after heating to a temperature of 820-860 degree C and quench in oil or water. Tempering is required after quenching.
