A.C Busbar contionues current calculations.

Dear friends,

Any body can help me on busbar calculations for contionous current, temperature raise test of switchgear panel?

Depends on ambient temperature, maximum working temperature, configuration of the bars and more. What sort of current rating are you looking for? Look at the copper development association website (www.cda.org.uk) for a good guide.

I can help you in giving you the calculation.

you have to furnish following details.

1) Bus bar material--Aluminium/copper

2) Ambient temperature

3) Current rating inside the switchgear panel

4) Over all dimension of the switch gear panel

5) Location of Switch gear panel--is it inside well ventilated room/not ventilated room

6) Enclosure of the switchgear panel made out of what material-- sheet steel/aluminium/frp

7) Sleeved busbar/painted busbar.

8) size of the bus bar and the no of busbars per phase,profile of busbar (circular/rectangular/hollow tube etc)

let me have the details to furnish the calculation.

4. Not ventilated.

5. Sheet steel

Its for bus duct manufacture. Material Type Aluminium,GradeD50SWP,Size 210X8 Bare Conductor,50 Deg. Cent. rise over 35deg.Cent. Amb. in still but unconfined air, Enclosure of bus duct: Sheet Steel, Th:2mm, 500mm widthX600mm height, Unsleeved, No.of busbar 1 Nos./Ph.
