Polar 150 EL

01/30/2014 10:01 AM

My 1970 Polar 150 EL is not cutting, everything else is fine and I can initiate a cut if I press in a relay on the LS board. The barrier photocells are giving different readings, but I don't think this is the problem. I had a Polar mechanic along to look at the problem he said that the amplifier board is showing only a little voltage. He than shrugged saying that there were no more parts for this machine and sent me a whopping bill. After the holidays I switched it on again and its been going great until now…the same problem. Is there anything else I can try?

You are facing an economic reality of using old equipment.

It finally wears out and no amount of hope will resurrect the outdated, obsolete electronics.

There's lots of sites selling polar parts. Google them.
