MIMIC BOARD, Macerator pumps

06/12/2007 2:25 AM

Good Day

I am involved with building 12.8 mt work boats, I am looking for a company that can supply navigation lights, and mimic alarm boards. Also a saniflo type sewage system with macerator pump to lift waste 2/5 mtrs. Prefereably supplier Singapore/Thialand, failing that anywhere.

What's your required pressure head and volumetric flow rate? For pump sizing, you can go to this website: http://www.grundfos.com.sg/web/HOMEsg.NSF/Webopslag/UGRD-5AUSAZ

Nearly all the major brand names and manufacturers are represented by marine equipment suppliers in South East Asia.

However you wil probably have to look to someplace like Taiwan, Shanghai or Hong Kong for retail outlets. Sales reps are listed in business directories and by the manufacturers.

For Navigation lights try Aqua Signal. By mimic alarm boards, do you mean the kind that have an outline floor plan of each deck or maybe a profile of the vessel to show where an alarm originates.

They are custom made by any engraving shop; and are simply engraved on Gravoply from a drawing. The lights are LED wired to the annunciator circuit which can be as simple as a pair of wires from the sensor to something complex driven by a micro processor. In North America Edwards is a big name. Siemens is a European company that makes these for various applications.

For sanitation systems Google Sealand, Dometic Corp or Techma (Thetford Corporation) I do not recall seeing "saniFlo" as a brand name for several years. But that is simply a marketing name.

Marine Sanitation Devices often called MSD; will depend on your local regulations or the area in which the work boats are used.

Lectra San is one type that electrically incinerates the waste before pumping it overboard. Be aware that this type has problems working in fresh or brackish water with low salt content. A seperate salt water tank is needed to supplement the fresh flush water.

I work in North America but design vessels built in China and we can specify any brand of equipment since the builder has no problems getting them. More and more marine equipment suppliers now have sales reps in Asian cities.
