Easy Picture-Capture

06/13/2007 11:06 PM

Guys,

Heres a software(Snagit), where you can easily capture any part of your desktop/window/anything as long as its in your monitor, output could be, jpeg, gif, png, even mpeg.

You can use it for tutorials or instructions, where you can record your actions on how to for example, use a software...etc.

Enjoy!

PrtScn and paste in 'Paint' does the same thing, what is the difference?

Guys,

PrtScn, you capture the whole Screen, then edit it in Paint to capture the part of the screen which you really need(crop-crop-crop), and you still need to open Paint.

in Snag it, you can capture any part of the screen/ window/ etc.....

even how small it is, then you can edit it if you like.

And I believe in paint, you cant record in video mode--"theres no Video mode in Paint".

Snag it can record your activities in your computer, which is useful for teaching/ coaching for software trainings.

I've used Snag-it many times: great stuff. It even allows you to capture images from Flash or from websites that have the copy function disabled.

Works the same as Coral Capture which comes bundled with CoralDraw.

Hitting Alt-PrtSc will capture only the active window to the clipboard (not the whole screen). Then paste into paint, Word, etc.

Yes, there a lot of packages out there that will do this. The major point here is that it can be a very useful tool for getting someone else to understand a point you are trying to make, whether a tutorial, a manual, or in trying to describe a computer problem to a technician!
