Metal fabrication

06/17/2007 2:04 PM

Can anyone tell where is the best place to take your ideas to turn it into a reality?

I've for ages some profiles to make from Dexion materials and locally I have tried just about any metal fabrication shop but no avail.

It only requires like <0.25mm accuracy but no avail. Even the fanciest of them claiming on their website to give them some vague idea and they'll turn it into a reality did not help.

Ofcourse I went for the locals first and later for others around the country but still no luck at all.

Initially I would only need 1/2 samples as show pieces and I could help with most of the jig setup also if, that's needed.

Have proper drawings also.

Dexion, I think you buy it and cut it to length and bolt together yourself. You can buy dexion cutters(shears) and make what you want. Any small shop can cut it for you, but the hourly rate makes it costly. SMall shops buy angle iron and cut to size, a lot cheaper than dexion

Vermin,

Did you have too much coffee or something? You seem to be jumping a lot faster than usual...

Not sure. I tested on my PC and it seems to be the same.

Who knows....maybe it's MY pc that suddenly decided to go into hyperspeed. But I can't blame it (my pc) for the new boot crushing Kris, though...

"Scottie, report."

"All bouncing parameters are within nominal levels, captain."

"Alright then. Instruct the yeomen to bounce up and down more."

I might be totally out of the water but isn't DEXION rails and racking components? And what sizes are you looking to apply your tolerance (approx. inch +/- .010) to?

If I understand, you may require some place that can realize your ideas in materials.

çI think we can be interested. However, need more information or drawings and specs. We are in M´´exico, near Texas border, and have design and fabrication facilities and experience , let me know if we can go further.
