What is the application

you can connect RSView32 as SCADA with Mitsubishi PLC and application can be developed for control, monitoring etc.

Further information and support contact me at aksasee@computonics-intl.com

We need a lot more information about the what the needs are to provide advice on the application. Things like the environment, the I/O, the HMI requirements, the process, etc.

That being said, what do you mean by "designing a SCADA"?

"SCADA" Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (for those of you that are not familiar with the term)

Do you mean "Power Line Carrier" for the communication link by the second PLC term?

There are some important things that you need to keep in mind in the designing or spec-ing this system

1. Do you need telemetering ?

2. What transducers are available or need to be installed?

3. What degree of security is required and what are the consequences of a fail to operate or a false operation?

4. If security is high, you will need to consider a two operation code system, confirm selection BEFORE OPERATE before sending the operational codes.

5 You also will need axillary switches or process sensors on each device supervised to report its condition or position.

Your project can be quite extensive. I have specified about 30 systems (older design, some with mechanical relays), however, my field experience is limited to power control and not process control.

I suggest you use these comments as a guide for writing the specifications for your system. To design and build it completely by your self opens the door for many pitfalls.

There are dozens of manufactures available with systems that range from just remote indication to complex control Nuclear plant control systems.

hello snakers.

tank you for the reply...!

the sistem i am designing is a simple one.

i just need to read from the memory of the ANS and plot into the screen of the Lookout (NI software)

if you could give me some hints, like: what is the PCU adress, that really would be a serious help!!!

cheers any case!!!

You need to speak To NI it is their software you are trying to use. I may be stating the obvious but.........

Uh, this isn't really designing a SCADA (system). It seems you are describing polling data with a PC from a PLC and trending the information using NI software.

You refer to the PCU address. How will the PC be connected? Direct serial, Modbus, ethernet, etc.? Are you asking about the register or data location in the PLC?

hello.

tanks for the reply...!

I am sorry to answer so late , but that´s life...loads of work

yes, that is the kind of job I was intended to do, but in the future a full SCADA system.

and , from what I´ve eard , the LOOKOUT is out from business...!

I would like to know alternatives, to it dough.

it seams that is possible to build an intire SCADA system from the scratch using LABVIEW.

I dont know that for sure.

any way , tanks!
