Extruder volatiles

06/19/2007 5:26 AM

I am extruding with a polyolefin (HDPE and HIPS not mixed). The vendor has given me experimental compounded materials with about 1% of a volatile additive that is probably ethylene glycol. I have a vented barrel for this run and the right screw and if I have any real issues I think I can adjust the process to vent the melt properly. Is there anything else I may not be thinking of?

I'm not addressing your question, but is your company ISO certified? Perhaps we could discuss your capabilities and some of our extruding needs...
