Wind power generator is useful only in coastal areas where there are winds the year round. At other areas meteorological data from observatories located in various centers in India are needed as a first step in considering this possibility. For design purposes of Chemical Plant equipment the wind load considered is 150 Kg/M2. The actual wind load available on the windmill will be much less - about 60-80 Kg./M2and that too only when the wind is blowing at about 110 - 120 KM/hr. velocity perpendicular to the blades. But as the velocity increases further the force increases more rapidly.
