AVO Meters and Thyrsitors

Basically this is only usefully for checking anode to cathode short circuit and gate circuit continuity.

It is not practical to try to use Avo meters battery /ohms circuit to check functional operation due to variables like minimum hold on current,gate trigger voltage and current.

Practical way is to use a 6Volt battery and small lamp wire them in series then momentarily connect a 0.1 Mf capacitor between gate and positive supply this should switch thyristor on if it is good also can test a triac by same method.
