Crabtree has it right, you have to experience and know this material before you apply for the job, memorizing answers to questions that you have no real working knowledge of is very easy to spot by someone who does.

If you think those interview sites are going to help then consider this answer to a basic instrumentation question:

If any of us posted an answer like that we'd be laughed off of CR4, yet 70% of the (im)posters agreed that it is correct!!

btw- most technical interviewers are aware of these sites, and the instant you give the above answer they will know where you "learned" it from and their response will most likely be "please close the door on your way out".

Question 1: can this person do the job? Y/N

Question 2: will this person do the job? Y/N

Question 3: will this person fit? Y/N

Those are the only questions I would ask myself during interview.

You have any other persons in your organization who currently do a similar job? I would ask those people for their suggestions. They should come up with stuff they work with on a regular basis that is applicable to your organization. When I had to come up with a "test" I asked the people currently doing the job. I never would have thought of some of their questions and definitely not some of their multiple choice answers. Might even make those people feel a little more important, at least in their own minds.
