Sheet metal forming

06/27/2007 2:05 AM

What are the factors want to consider as parameters in Sheet metal forming operations?

How those factors vary according to the environmental conditions during the operation?

And how these factors handle to get better final product as well?

Please give me a help to find about information as soon as possible...

Thanks...!

How do you wish to get a "better" final product? Are you talking about closer tolerances or an improvement in the visible condition of the part?

"What are the factors want to consider as parameters in Sheet metal forming operations?"

What kind of forming operations? Bending, embossing, drawing, or what?

"How those factors vary according to the environmental conditions during the operation?"

What specific environmental conditions are of concern?

"And how these factors handle to get better final product as well?"

What aspect of product?

What is the end product?

What material are you forming?

What kind of finish is desired?

Grab the book "Architectural Sheet Metal Manual" developed by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association, Inc. (SMACANA).

Factor affect metal forming:

Material properties: hardness, strength, elasticity, grain direction, thickness. Which vary from batch to batch.

Forming process, bending radius, draw depth, cycle time.

Not much to do with environment unless you operate in very high/low temp which affect material property.

Only way to be certain is do a test piece.

Try asking <Amazon.com> for manuals and textbooks on sheet metal work. Such books will provide all kinds of information to extensive to reiterate here.

Also you might want to consider a course in sheet metal work.
