PCB Destruction

Please share you knowledge for the most economical way to destroy PCB in electric transformers, any manufacturer of a mobile unit?

The first step is to contact your local authorities and find out what the regional laws are regarding the removal/destruction of PCBs.

There is an urgent necesity to take care of this poisonus substance from our transformers, and has to be destroyed. That´s why we are looking for the best solution, destroy it at 1200º C in a cement kiln, but I believe there are other means. Preferably an onsite system.

Hi Cuyanauaul,

In South Africa they tested CJC Jensen filters... system and found it great at extracting the PCB's...I have tried to talk to them so I can do the same here in Kenya but they seem off handish..BUT try this lady...perhaps she is better that the boss........I still think the system is really great and will continue to see if I can bring it to Kenya

Very usefull information thank you all. Does any one have experience with any of this technologies?

We have availability of cement furnaces but we are looking for an site+cheaper system.-

Let´s see if we have luck with CJC....

I believe a Plasma Oven will do the trick. Wether there are portable units is yet the be determined.
