Are you looking for a personalised roll pass design course? We can offer such kind of course, but we are far from Canada. We do not use FEA software in these courses because each one has its own and that way you won´t learn the inside and reasons for them. We can provide you with a plan and contents for a distance course, we need to know what kind of products you will handle, since we will provide you with a high quality and knowledege state of the art. If you are interested contact in info@atecmasid.com

I found your message during a project, we have a broad experience in hot rolling, I just wanted to offer a course that is not easy to find. We will design the course and that is why I ask you for refferences and type of products to be rolled. The course will give you the fundamentals of hot rolling, thickness reduction proportions, metallurgical aspects, practical appliance, current technologies, quality deffects description-origin, mechanical configuration of the rolling mill stands, etc.

We should go through semiproducts entering the rolling mill first, shapes, dimensions, quality, etc. Then review the reheating furnaces technologies and equipment and from that point start studying the different rolling mill layouts centering in continuous and semi-continuous rolling mills (tandem mills). At this point we would stop and review te different aspects for technology, production and maintenance issues of stands, chocks, rolls, lubrication, cooling, etc. We should review rolls qualities, dimensions and machining and an overview of the roll shop management. Apart from this we will take into account the control systems and human resources needs as a function of the previous. Next step should be the finishing mill, considering hot or cold cutting saws, cooling bed, cooling bed dimensioning, cooling practices, straightening, stackling and bundling. All over the process we would consider tre traceability needed from the heat made in the steel works al through the process to the bundle including quality control, quality certification and quality management.
