How do you reset machine service hours on a Machine running on a perkins engine and with the Engine control system (Murphy).

http://www.fwmurphy.com/

I googled and found multiple hits, the answer depends on WHICH Murphy control system is being used

It should be in the equipment's manual, Boss. If it isn't, the equipment supplier's phone number certainly will be...

Why would you WANT to 'reset machine service hours' on ANY piece of equipment?

That's an important number to keep track of, it helps to determine scheduling of preventative maintenance, for one thing.

It's also useful for determining reliability, if a Brand X widget lasts 1,200 service hours, and a Brand Y widget lasts 2,400 service hours, then the Brand Y is a bargain as long as it costs less than twice what Brand X costs.
