As per Gulf Standard 60/1987 ( Also equivalent Omani Standard 132/1987) from the Industrial Safety and health regulations-hazardous Materials- Gases-Part-6:LPG-is given hereunder:
3.1.1- Odourisng gases-
3.1.1.1. All LPG gases shall be effectively odourised by an agent of such character as to indicate positvely by distinct odour, the presence of gas down to concentrations in air of not over one fifth the lower explosive limit.
3.1.1.2 the odourization requirement shall be considered met by the use of 1 Kg of ethyl mercaptan per 80,000 liters of LPG.
