Which has better waveform, an inverter or geneset driven by diesel/petrol engine , or windturbine or hydro)?.On what basis should we select the waveform of voltage for TV,mobile phone/battery charging,lighting,motors etc?

SOVIKM - An inverter is a box full of electronics. Into one end, you put DC power, from a battery or solar panels, or your car cigarette lighter. From the other end comes out regular AC power to run things like refrigerators, fans, lights perhaps during power outages, or when you live away from the powerlines. Mainly for back up power in small scale, with a battery storage. If inverter connected to mains power, it will charge the battery back.

Inverter-solar panel - battery would be a good combination for saving money from peek power timing.
