High Rise Elevators

10/08/2014 8:48 AM

I am representing client to choose the best elevator for a 20 floor building and feeling confused about the best elevator to choose. Would appreciate your feedback on the specific mechanical point should look for in choosing the best manufacturer, considering that most the parts are manufactured in China.

Also any feedback on Krupp elevators.

I prefer the stairs. Your approach is foolish. I pity your client.

In the old days you would pick up a telephone book and thumb through the yellow pages for elevator service companies.

Today you should be able to Google the same for your location and pick two or three companies to go onsite or meet with the architect and provide you with a bidding quote.

Those companies are far better experts than what you find at some forum. You might get lucky and find someone that is an expert in the field here, but you have no credentials to check on some anonymous forum whereas a licensed contractor does.

I am asking for the best specification for the elevator, what are the points to be highlighted on the specification. i f you dont know what are you talking about, its better to shutup idiot.

Architects do not put the mechanical specs. waste of time.

How have you managed to succeed in representing this client without already having access to the specifications and performance/time-data for elevators for previous buildings, Mildred?

Oh, and you won't get much help from a place like this by being abrasive, by the way.

Don't use the specifications for the one in the Grand Hotel, Havana, Cuba, by the way. It stops between floors and the doors don't open.

If you are incapable of taking polite criticism, how can you possibly make a valid judgement on anything. Good luck getting anymore pearls to be cast your way.

This is a situation where you need to do some local field research....Go to buildings with similar requirements, ride the elevators, ask people that work there how the elevators perform, reliability, any down time....Then pay a visit to local representatives of the top three companies, or at least two....The product is half the equation, service is the other half....Just keep gathering information until you feel comfortable with making a recommendation....

How do you define "best", Mildred?
