We are looking for a self-motivated professional
R&D Manager to join this successful team working within the catering
equipment (dishwashers / glasswashers) industry.Our existing
product range is well established and accepted within the market place
and yet we still have many opportunities to develop the existing range
and introduce new products that will bring us greater success in the
future.Our existing product range is electromechanical in
design, although we are presently exploring the introduction of
electronics into the next generation of machines. For this reason
candidates will be expected to have a broad engineering background and
an understanding of electronics would be a advantage.Being part
of a small team this position will have a direct influence of all
aspects of the product through conception, detailed design, manufacture,
testing and customer satisfaction. The position of R&D manager
reports to the Technical Director and sits alongside the Production
Manager and Material Control ManagerFuture plans are for more joint
ventures between Classeq and our parent company Winterhalter which will
require a matrix style of management within both companies. The role
will be supported by the extended R&D department at our parent
company (Winterhalter).Though Classeq are part of a much larger
group (Winterhalter) the actual team in Classeq (in Hixon) works
autonomously for most of the time which means that this position holder
will have the opportunity to work freely and contribute to real change
within the products and company on a number of existing and new
projects.
Who we're looking for
Candidates for the R&D Manager role will come from an electrical
or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment and will have:
• Good Electro-mechanical, electrical design experience with proven track record
• Strong IT skills
• Excellent documentation skills and understanding of design life cycles
• Ability to communicate with customers and all external bodies professionally
• Good problem solving ability
• Strong managerial skills to lead and inspire product design & development meetings
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Some occasional travel abroad for product design and improvement meetings will be required
Required skills & expertise:
• Electro-mechanical Engineering
• Product Design
• Electrical design and legislation knowledge
• Knowledge of Solidworks or similar packages
• Proven project and man management skills
