LV Neutral Grounding

10/25/2014 5:45 AM

In large plants we usually design the LV neutral grounding as TN-S, but do not distribute the "protection cable" with the phases and neutral cables to some loads. We do join does loads through a cable that we extract from the ground mesh.
I was wondering if in IEC standards, there is any "must have" for the distribution of the "protection cable".
Thanks.

What earth loop impedance are you getting at the equipment you haven't provided a CPC to?

Have you been experiencing problems or is this merely an academic question?

[1. The phrase "extract from the ground mesh" is insufficiently clear. Please elaborate.

2. You were already asked what the ground loop impedance is. It might be helpful to know what the neutral resistance is as well. What are their lengths and cross-sectional areas?

3. What is the simultaneous current reading and phase angle (alternatively, the resistive and reactive current) on each phase and on the neutral when loaded?]
