"Chemical Machining" for Titanium plates

07/05/2007 12:19 PM

I have to chemically machine Titanium II and Titanium V plates. These plates have different thicknesses, ranging from 0,1 mm to 0,5mm.

Process is quite similar to those used for manufacturing electronic boards: a paint is applied on the metal, the shape of the piece/s is engraved with a laser, a chemical is applied to remove unwanted excess metal.

I am searching for a provider for the "paint" and the chemical.

Any clue?

Thanks!

I used a tape when I did that many years ago.... back in the 80's but I'd think any type of paint that will hold up to the acid would work. I'm fearing that if it didn't you'd contaminate the tank. What if somebody put it in the chemical bath too early? That why I like the tape idea.
