I suppose you know that a PSS 3047-3 is a compact safety PLC (SIL 3/ PL e), programming is similar to that of the modular PSS 3000/3100. Editing safety-related PLC programs requires a very high knowledge level and depending on the application, local laws etc., it may even require 3rd party review. I've been involved in the design of SIL 3 controls so I know what I'm talking about though I was not in charge of the program. Also it's possible that you've one or more locked program blocks from a standard bibliotheque.

Maybe you can find a cra cked PSS WIN-PRO version but I'd never ever advise you to us one and as far as you work on the safety-related part of a system you must document everything you do very thouroughly. PSS WIN-PRO is sold, not a freeware. The Logo tools are sold too but I don't know them well because I don't use Siemens Logo products. Please don't tell me that you've a mix of Logo and PSS 3xxx within the same machine.

What type of equipment is it? Machine? Process? Burner control?

I suppose you're a seasoned functional safety expert when it comes to PES. If not, let it be as some seemingly tiny errors in wiring or programming can lead to a disaster (there have also been accidents due to wrong use of the connected PC).

1st thanks for your reply

and we are using these 2 plc in different m/c not in a single m/c.

and i m not saying that i am changing program which was made by Pilz, i want these software & cable just to find out the troubleshooting(if any) i am / will not change the program

I just visited the Pilz web site and found a link http://www.pilz.com/download/restricted/PSS_WIN-PRO_2_3_1_3000678A18.zip and we can download this software after login to this site but in downloading, i am facing problem of after 40-50% of downloading going to be failed.

If I had seen that you've posted your questions above in differents CR4 boards I wouldn't have answered above.

The 9-pol Sub-D Programming Device Interface (called PG, Programmiergerät, am old historical Siemens term) connector is combined RS-232C/RS-485 but you can only run either RS-232C or RS-485 communication for that port, not both at the same time. The pin assignation is clearly explained in the PSS 3047-3 Operating Manual (and please don't ask about Null Modem vs. straight cables). If your PC no longer features an RS-232C port you can for example use an USB/RS-232C adatper but be aware that not all models work.

Please read the Pilz manuals and do your basic homework.
