07/06/2007 1:12 PM

dear sirs, iam having a problem with the air compressors room in my factory.i have more than one sucker fan for the hot air inside the room. the problem is that i want to make an outlet air flow from the compressor fans directly out of the room. i have the dimensions of the compressor outlet hot air.(rectangularly).

help me with solutions and lows or relations to take readings and dimensions to make the fan, and also the fan dimensions.

n.b. i used another fan but the sound was very loud as a helicopter.

You need free flow of air into the compressor room. Allow twice as much area for inlet as the size of the (sucker) exhaust fan.

Larger, slower exhaust fans are less noisy than smaller, faster exhaust fans.

Hi Mikel,

Finding the right size fan(s) for your air compressor needs some extra information which finally comes up to amount of heat generated with the compressor. One of the best way to deal with this type of the problem is to ventilate room's air based on Air Change Per Hour(ACH). usually based on room's volume and heat generation from the heat source, the required amount of ACH could be find in ASHRAE Handbook, so this gives you the total required air change . By knowing this value and checking with any exhaust fan manufacturing catalogue where the sound level is appropriate for compressor's room around 45-50 you could select your fan(s). usually select more than one fan(n+1) with a safety factor which in case of malfunction of one, other fan(s) could provide enough ACH to overcome the generated heat.

For best result, try to suck air over the compressor from the lower level and exhaust it from upper level in opposite side.

Probably I could help you more if had some required information.

Dear Makina,

You can use natural powerless air exhausts for surrounding air.As you know the heat is coming from compression of air and heat is carried out by oil you can use a oil cooler additionally.
