Your main responsibilities as a Civil Engineer:
Providing credible civil engineering governance
through assessment, advice and assurance for all maritime structures under the
Naval Base Services Directorate
Offering advice, with the ability to explain
effectively and write reports containing qualified recommendations to Directors
Conducting design and phase reviews for civil
engineering and maritime assets
Carrying out analysis and research and design
activities
Authorising civil engineering related processes,
instructions and associated documents
Providing professional engineering support, as part
of the Chief Engineer's Department (CED), to assure engineering and Safety,
Health and Environment (SHE) governance within Naval Base Services
As a Civil Engineer your skills and
qualifications will ideally include:

General broad based knowledge of civil
engineering and experience of its practical application
·
Chartered engineer status or working
towards
·
PC Literate, with good working
knowledge of Microsoft packages
·
Familiarity with finite element
analysis would be advantageous but not essential
·
Awareness of HAZID (Hazard
Identification) tools, including Fault Tree Analysis
·
Ideally NEBOSH trained but not
essential
·
Credible presentation skills at a
senior level
·
Understanding of BAE Systems processes
and procedures
·
Understanding of the Naval support
environment
·
Sound understanding of Partnership
agreements
·
Good interpersonal, influencing and
negotiating skills, with the ability to form relationships with MoD and
operational customers including third party suppliers and companies
This is a full time role and will be based at Portsmouth Naval Base.
The job grade for this role is FSL 4 and we are offering a
salary of £32,000.
