Materials Testing for Li-Ion Batteries

02/27/2015 7:13 AM

Hello!
I represent high startup from EU, which produces silicon nanomaterials. Recently we developed a new product which promises to have good potential in anode part of batteries. Unfortunately we do not have our own testing lab, so I was hoping that somebody could suggest a nice Lab/Company which could be interested in this kind of work. Thank you in advance!

you produce a material that you don't know how to test.........interesting

We are at start-up phase and do not have a facility to run these tests. These tests require special equipment and knowledge that our team does not have, since our expertise is in nanomaterials, not batteries. That is why I am asking for advice..

Exactly, what do you need to test?

Sorry for not writing clearly enough..

What we to carry out electrochemical characterization of our material for Li-ion based systems and supercaps (CCCV cycles against lithium metal, impendance tests)..

If it's of any interest, we perform impedance testing on our line of low impedance resistance welding equipment. Impedance is measured at 60 Hz and between 1.0 and 2500 micro-ohms.

You could try local universities that have high end research and development programs they may be able to help. I thought this is what was commonly done in this particular field.

BE WARNED HOWEVER they will likely want a substantial portion of the rights to whatever they test and develop for you. This is why they have these research programs - to make money! (yes I have had some experience in this area as you can tell).

Have you tried an internet search for chemical (or similar) labs?

Something this specialised may require you to partner up with a lab but you may need to design the tests and supply the equipment yourself while they perform or assist you in the testing and then verify the results. Do you have the capability to do this?

Now I'm curious what you are really up to.

First, you ask about "multilateration positioning" while not actually knowing what it is.

Now, it's testing a material that you can't characterize.

I'm growing skeptical of your real intentions.

Care to explain?
